Springs School has started the year off with new activities for its students, including Basketball intramurals. Students meet twice a week after school to play basketball non-competitively, run drills and learn skills. Other sports intramurals will be introduced throughout the year. The PTA has started its first fundraiser for the year, the Miss Chocolate fundraiser. Students are selling holiday wrapping paper and gifts to raise money for the PTA’s programs which include book fairs, swimming at the YMCA, and field trips. You can place orders and find more information at: www.misschocolate.com. Students celebrated “International Day of Peace” recently. Students in every grade gathered on the field to form a large peace sign and sang the song, “Love Train.” International Day of Peace was started by the United Nations and is celebrated yearly. This year’s theme was “Climate Action For Peace.” Here is some great news from former Springs students: Bella Tarbet and Sophia Swanson were chosen to represent Team USA in the “World Life Saving Championships.” They are currently in South Africa for two weeks competing against the best from other countries. Congratulations to Bella and Sophia!
